Eirini Chatzi

I am a documentary filmmaker based in Athens, Greece, with studies in English Language and Literature (BA), Film Direction (Diploma) and Cultural Management (MSc). The themes of my work revolve around human rights, gender, both of which approached through an amalgamation of heterogeneous narrative elements.

The aim of my work is to produce and visualize representations ‘from below’, from the margins of historical archives, from the heart of communities, lives and human narratives.

I use audiovisual representations as a means of observation and exploration of contemporary social phenomena. For me, documentary is the space where image, theory and anthropology meet, converse and produce critical readings of manifestations of our time.
